I had the opportunity to work on the third edition of the Encyclopedia of Violence, Peace, and Conflict, revising the manuscript of the second edition by Professor Michael K. Duffey in the section ‘Conscientious Objection, Ethics of‘. I was also given the opportunity to write the entry on ‘Military Service’ in the Elgar Encyclopedia of Human Rights, which I will add to the list of achievements as soon as it is published in September this year. It was a good experience for me to reflect on military service, military personnel and human rights more broadly. I deeply thank the excellent editors of both Encyclopedias.
